The Regional Sales Manager maintains excellent sales and service standards to ensure high level of customer satisfaction, and to maintain and manage a high-performing sales pipeline with our target and key accounts within his/her regional territory.  Oversees and manages the full sales process, order management, issue resolution and customer communications for all accounts in his/her respective regional territories.     Key responsibilities include account management; business development, RFQs, pricing, sales, claims, and technical support.  Provides product/services information and resolves with accuracy and efficiency any emerging customer issues. 

  • Identify and assess customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction
  • Oversee and manage all Key and Target account and customer communications in his/her designated territories, managing sales accounts in excess of $5M - $10M in revenue
  • Support and manage key performance metrics for the sales operations, including sales pipeline report management, CRM management for contacts/accounts, RFQ and Quoting activities, Pricing/Re-Pricing, management of account level supply agreements, etc.
  • Strong support for account sales and pipeline reporting, account planning, market penetration planning, current and new business development within designated and assigned territories, etc.
  • May also  coach and develop his/her team, support key performance metrics for operations, and manage various process and technology improvement projects to support continuous improvement of our sales and service operations. 
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration with Customer Service, Production Scheduling, Supply Chain, Finance, Manufacturing and Traffic operations are required. 
  • Operate as the lead point of contract for any and all matters specific to your customers and outside Sales Reps and Manufacturing Reps
  • Engage Engineering team as required for solution selling, value-added engineering and quoting
  • Keep records of customer interactions and quoting, outstanding issues, process customer accounts and file documents/save documents in CRM application as required

Job Requirements

  • Position is based at Youngstown headquarters; candidate must live in Cleveland/Akron/Pittsburgh/Youngstown area 
  • Frequent travel (60% - 80%)
  • College degree (Associates or Bachelors) preferred but not required
  • 5 years in managing key accounts (exceeding $5M-10M in annual sales) in heavy industrial sector; metal-forming (steel) highly preferred
  • Technical background helpful
  • Track record of meeting and exceeding quotas
  • Experience in coaching and managing sales team and/or Manufacturer’s Rep performance
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.  Intermediate level of Excel
