Hynes Industries is looking for an Electrical Engineer – Maintenance Manager to join our team in Youngstown, Ohio. 



The person in this role will improve the reliability of equipment related to but not limited to automation, controls, and electrical systems. Work with manufacturing sites to develop plans and schedules for major outages and upgrades. Provide troubleshooting support on major problems and facilitate plans to address repetitive and ongoing equipment issues. Work with staff to formulate and execute yearly capital plans. Manage multiple projects simultaneously. Provide leadership and vison of world class maintenance and manufacturing engineering.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following:

  • Accomplishes Maintenance Manager objectives by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising, and reviewing job contributions; planning and reviewing compensation actions; enforcing policies and procedures.

  • Achieves electrical engineering operational objectives by contributing electrical engineering information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; completing audits; identifying trends; determining administrative system improvements; implementing change.

  • Develops strategic maintenance plans by studying operational plans; studying existing conditions; determining needs to accomplish operational plans; mapping solutions; updating and modifying requirements and solutions; preparing cost estimates and budgets.

  • Plans projects by determining specifications; selecting contractors; establishing installation schedules; planning shut-downs and installations; integrating requirements with architectural and mechanical designs; verifying code requirements; updating cost estimates.

  • Completes projects by supervising installations; resolving design issues.

  • Maintains electrical/ mechanical systems by establishing and enforcing preventive and on-going maintenance, and testing programs; scheduling repairs; coordinating shut-downs and installations.

  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with codes and legal regulations.

  • Updates job knowledge by remaining current on codes and requirements; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

  • Accomplishes engineering and organization mission by completing related results as needed

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience with a minimum of 5 years.

  • Experience to include control systems, power distribution, NFPA 70E, high level PLC programming experience, and knowledge of AC/DC drives.

  • Basic knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and overall machine systems.         

Management Skills:  

  • Able to lead and train others as needed.

  • Able to lead cross functional teams in root cause problem solving.

  • Able to analyze data, prepare reports, manage projects and lead meetings.

Reasoning Ability:

  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding of written and/or verbal instructions. 

  •  Ability to apply prior experience in to assist in problem solving situations.             

Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand and sit. The employee is regularly required to use hands to feel or handle tools, objects and controls. The employee is rarely required to lift or move up to 75 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision, close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
