We are seeking an Accountant to perform accounting, financial, and compliance functions in order to ensure timely and accurate reporting and effective analysis that leads to maximization of economic performance. Works cross-functionally to gather and disseminate information to support effective performance of the organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Includes the following:

  • Evaluate existing processes and make recommendations for modifications to maximize accuracy and efficiency
  • Identify opportunities for the development of new processes and make recommendations
  • Assist with Sarbanes-Oxley and other internal and external compliance requirements
  • Participate in daily accounting activities that support timely and accurate reporting and improve performance
  • Participate in the preparation and review or budgets and forecasts
  • Investigate and analyze monthly costing variances and assist in the development of appropriate cost structures
  • Participate in managing site physical inventory including annual physical inventory process to ensure accurate recording
  • Assist with establishing and maintaining systems to ensure accurate operating supplies inventory and partner with management team on monthly reporting and analysis
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements

Education & Certification

  • BA/BS degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA a plus; not required


  • 3 years hands-on cost accounting  experience, preferably in a lean manufacturing environment
  • Relevant experience in steel or special metals environment a plus
  • Comfortable on a shop floor in a manufacturing environment 

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Sound understanding of accounting principals
  • Ability to handle multiple projects both independently and as part of a team effort 
  • Professional level proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint; Intermediate level Excel
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highest standards of accuracy and precision; highly organized
  • Sage 300 desirable
